About the Festival

The Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival is a community dragon boat festival held on beautiful Lake Champlain in Burlington, Vermont. In addition to providing an opportunity for team-based fun on the waterfront, the Festival is a charity event, raising money to support cancer survivors in our local community.

We hope to share our exciting sport by presenting a fun-filled festival for all ages that inspires our local community to support the missions of Dragonheart Vermont and our Pledge Partner for 2020, Integrative Therapies at the UVM Cancer Center.

This year we have had to create a Virtual Community Racing Challenge for our teams due to the COVID-19 regulations limiting safe assembly. In true Dragonheart style, we are still going to have a great event, albeit virtual and more individually based. Fun team and individual challenges lead up to the final week (July 24-31) where each person on the team will run, walk, bike, swim, paddle, or erg for 30 minutes. Check out the details here.

On August 2nd we’ll hold a “real-time virtual” ceremony to award the Virtual Champ Cup, the winner of which will be determined by the number of points earned by teams in challenges, individual races and fundraising.  Join our Community Racing Challenge by entering  a team or supporting our fundraising.
