Thank you for volunteering on festival day, Sunday, August 6, 2023.
We’ve got all kinds of fun jobs that need to be filled, and with shifts offered throughout the day, we can accommodate your schedule. We also have a few set-up tasks that we could use some help with on Saturday, the 5th.
As a volunteer, you’ll be right in the middle of all the fun and festivities. We’re sure you’ll have a wonderful experience.
There are many volunteer opportunities. The festival and all its charitable work can’t happen without you and our wonderful community.
VoLunteer tips and information
Your Volunteer Job Assignment
We’ll send you a reminder a few days before the Festival
Parking for Volunteers
Parking is at a premium on Festival Day. There is some parking available in the North Field which is located directly west of the waterfront park and will be manned by Festival Parking volunteers, but it becomes very full after 8:00 a.m. You may need to park in one of the garages in town or at the public parking space just south of the waterfront park on the corner of College and Lake St. These spaces are paid parking spots with daily or hourly fees. Check out the downtown parking map here.
Check In for Volunteers
Please arrive a minimum of 15 minutes before your shift begins. This may mean that you need to arrive 30 minutes early to allow for walking from your parking spot.
Even if you know your assignment, please go immediately to the CHECK IN / INFORMATION Tent located in the center of Waterfront Park. You will receive your volunteer shirt. Please wear this shirt during your shift so you can be recognized as a volunteer. The shirt is yours to keep as our thank you.
What should you bring?
Make sure to wear sun block and perhaps a hat and/or sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun. If it is rainy, please wear layers and bring raingear as we will proceed in the rain. Bring a water bottle as we will have a water truck where you can get free water.
If You Become Ill or Unavoidably Late
Please contact your job coordinator as soon as you realize that you have an issue. We will try to get someone to fill in your job.
