Sisters at Heart 2022 Will be a Live Event!

Saturday, August 6, 2022 will be the 15th annual Sisters at Heart (SAH) Celebration. The celebration continues on Sunday, August 7, as part of the Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival (LCDBF).

Weekend Overview:
  • Saturday, 8-4 PM: Paddling and movement workshops, lunch, 500m races, team cheers and songs and Ben and Jerry’s ice cream
  • Sunday, 7:30-2:00 PM: 200m BCS division races, a moving Flower Ceremony on beautiful Lake Champlain, as well as festival booths, music and food

Dr. Don McKenzie, Exercise Physiologist and Professor at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in the Department of Sports Medicine takes us back to 1996, where his fortitude and persistence revolutionized the health of breast cancer survivors around the world. YOGA and MORE with Anne Baker

Movement specialist, Anne Baker, Partners in Health, guides you through stretches and yoga moves to increase flexibility and mobility. Treat your body and impact your paddling with one or both of Anne’s 30 minute sessions. Click the desired session and accept the online waiver before starting your practice with Anne.

Honoring Women with Cancer

Breast cancer advocates Iris Lancaster and Diane Mastumoto honor our sister, Mary Ann and encourage us to add to the power of intention with our energy and our story. In this campfire setting, our dear friends remind us that we are strong; that we are not alone. With contributions from Mary Ann’s friends and family, you can feel the warmth of their messages along with the warmth and crackle of their campfire. (18:27 minutes)

Active Stretches and Lymph Flow Exercises

Julie Rossignol, Occupational Therapist and Lymphedema Therapist, along with her sister Sophie and niece Hannah, guides you through several exercises you can do for your lymphatic health. In just under 9 minutes, you can learn active stretches that use the musculoskeletal system to help enhance your natural lymphatic flow.

Dr. Kim Dittus, Medical Oncologist and Nutritionist, and Eugenie Doyle, Organic Farmer, do more than team up on the water with Dragonheart Vermont.
